I LOVE this time a year, especially when the leaves start to change color. These leaf peeping designs are inspired by Fall in the Maine.
This fall leaves decorated vase would work well as a house warming gift or an addition to your own home decor.
The vase started out on the pottery wheel using a very dark brown clay body. When it dried out to the leather hard stage, I added a handle and used underglazes to pain on a the fall leaves. Then I used a tool to fill in all the details. This technique is called sgraffito.
The outside of the vase is unglazed and the inside of the vase is glazed a beautiful red. It is a medium sized vase at 6.5 inches tall and 5 inches wide at it’s widest point.
