This honey pot is a second because there is a tiny unnoticeable crack in the lid, it does not effect the functionality of the piece.
This is a homemade honey pot with a dipper. It was hand thrown on the pottery wheel with a dark brown stoneware. When it dried out, I trimmed the pot and lid then applied a band of white underglaze then carved through a swirl design.
This honey pot is ideal for housing Honey Syrup. Honey Syrup is made by mixing equal parts honey and hot water. You can add cinnamon, lemon juice and other flavorings . Honey Syrup is delicious on toast, pancakes, waffles, yogurt or cake.
The honeypot stands about 5 inches tall and 4.25 inches wide.
The outside of the pot is unglazed and shows the lovely tones of the raw clay. The inside is glazed purple.
