This gorgeous cone flower mug would make a great gift for Mother’s Day, a housewarming or a nice treat for yourself.
It is 4.25 inches wide and 5 inches wide. It holds 18oz of your favorite beverage.
The mug was handmade on the wheel with a white stoneware, as it dried out, I applied a black underglaze and carved the cone flower design. This technique is referred to as “Sgraffito”. Then I painted the flowers, painted on a clear glaze and also applied a wax resist so that the flowers and the rest of the pot could be different colors. The glaze on the pot is a very glossy green.
