Description
This bowl was SO much work but I’m in love with how it came out. It was inspired by my love of old horror movies.
The bowl depicts a poor young women surrounded by hideous zombies in a graveyard. There are more zombies in the background and a hand popping out of a grave.
This bowl was hand thrown on the pottery wheel. When it dried out I applied a black underglaze and painstakingly carved the zombie apocalypse scene. The process is a lot like doing block print and it took hours to carve and paint. This technique is often referred to as sgraffito.
This would make a wonderful candy bowl to pass out to the kiddos who visit on Halloween!
