Description
I’ve been trying some new designs with spoon rests and since everyone is crazy about sloth pottery, why not a sloth spoon rest.
It was hand thrown on the wheel with a white clay body. When it dried out, I trimmed the bottom and applied colorful underglazes to depict the sloth handing from a tree. I then used a tool to carve out all the details. They call this technique sgraffito.
This spoon rest is technically a second because there is a tiny crack on the back. This crack does not effect the integrity of the piece but it is a flaw and why the spoon rest is marked down.
