I LOVE this time a year, especially when the leaves start to change color. These leaf peeping designs are inspired by Fall in the Maine.
This fall leaves decorated small vase would work well as a kitchen utility holder for all your spatulas, turners and other kitchen utensils.
The mug started out on the pottery wheel using a very dark brown clay body. When it dried out to the leather hard stage, I added a handle and used underglazes to pain on a the fall leaves. Then I used a tool to fill in all the details. This technique is called sgraffito.
The outside of the vase is unglazed and the inside of the vase is glazed a beautiful Orange. The mug is 4.5 inches wide with the handle and a little under 4.75 inches tall. It holds approx. 14oz of fluid.
