Description
This fall leaves mug was handmade on the pottery wheel with a brown clay body that has a lot of manganese in it. When it dried out, I attached the handle and applied a black underglaze. Then I carved the leaves, this technique is called Sgraffito. Then I painted all of the details. The inside of the mug was glazed a brilliant blue and the outside was glazed clear.
It has a bulbous shape that gives it a large over 20oz capacity.
